YCLSA statement on Metsimaholo Elections
23 November 2017
The Young Communist League of South Africa (uFasimba) would like to salute its members in general and the Chris Hani brigade in the Josie Mpama district, also known as Metsimaholo Municipality, for maintaining the resolution of the SACP 14th Congress ratified by the Central Committee for the SACP to contest elections.
As uFasimba we want to warn the Party officials that will be meeting the ANC that they have no mandate to change the position of the CC, because the Party position is the people's will.
We take it as the utmost task and responsibility of any communist in the Party to always respect and implement Party decisions.
This is the Party line and discipline we were brought up with.
In the remaining days before the 29th elections we call on the Chris Hani brigade, YCLSA members, SACP members, supporters of the SACP and the entire community of Metsimaholo Municipality to remain steadfast in pursuit of a just society and vote for SACP on the 29th of November 2017.
In the midst of these tumultous political conditions, in which the privilege of the elite is challenged, we must never be discouraged by any propaganda that seeks to cast the SACP in a negative light nor entertain those who want to drag us into useless and time-consuming dialogues. Party work and service to the people must be a priority.
Our clarity of thought and mission will take us far. Cowards will never emerge victorious, only the daring and selfless souls shall accomplish, and we must be those daring and selfless souls in this epoch of treachery, confusion and "fence-sitting".
We do not want elite pacts, we want people's will. Socialism is the future, we must build it now. Victory or death.
