YCLSA Tshwane congratulates SACP Greater Tshwane for a successful 2nd District Congress
18 November 2014
The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] in Greater Tshwane District congratulates the South African Communist Party for having held a successful 2nd district congress in Pretoria Secondary School on 15-16 November 2014. The YCLSA in Tshwane in its address to the 2nd District congress said "We take this opportunity wary of the task that has been bestowed to us deriving its mandate from the Constitution of the South African Communist Party where it asserts the establishment of the Young Communist League of South Africa. The synchronicity of this assertion is emphasized through the Aims and Objectives as reflected under section 4 of the YCL Constitution which states that the YCLSA shall serve as a preparatory school of the SACP, and shall rally young people behind the programme and policies of the Party and lead them in the struggle to advance youth development as an integral part of human and societal development"
The district congress reaffirmed these constitutional imperatives by electing two former YCLSA district secretaries namely Cde Motlerekoane Maloka and Cde Mahlatsi Koma, and four former District Committee members namely, Cde Nape Mapheto, Cde Kgaohelo Lesoka, Cde Phillip Shabalala and Cde Sadike Nkambule respectfully. The Congress elected the following leadership.
District Secretary: Cde Apson Makaung
District Chairperson: Cde Obed "Stalin" Maila
District Treasure: Cde Lucy Lekgema
District Deputy Secretary: Cde Daniel Buda
District Deputy Chairperson: Cde Hilda Monkwe
Cde John Mokoena
Cde Motlerekoane Maloka
Cde Sadike Nkambule
Cde Thoko Zwane
Cde Goodwill Mashele
Cde Kgaohelo Lesoka
Cde Nape Mphiri Mapheto
Cde Phillip Shabalala
Cde Nexy Makowe
Cde Portia Mahori
Cde Tsakane Hlongwane
Cde James Makhubedu
Cde Ray Henning
We congratulate this leadership collective and wish them well in building the party as the party of power whose struggle should be deepened in all the key sites of power including the state as the most concentrated form of political influence in our society. We are hopeful that the leadership will work on consolidating and reconfiguring the alliance as the only political center of power in our district. These include strengthening the alliance beyond personal contradictions and rallying people behind the ANC led alliance towards 2016 local government elections and beyond.
The Communist Party should continue with the campaign against fraud and corruption in all entities of our government including the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality. Where the ANC led government is doing tremendously well the Communist Party must compliment the developments and advances in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality. This can only strengthen the democratic forces of our movement and weaken our detractors in deepening the National Democratic Revolution.
